Reckless Rollers is B.A.D.’s recreational skating group which practices on weekends. Sessions are an hour and a half and happen on Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening. Skaters are not required to maintain attendance.
NEW REQUIREMENTS STARTING JUNE 2013:
RR is open to female quad skaters over the age of 18. Skaters must have a complete understanding of basic skills and ability to execute those skills. For a general guideline, please refer to the minimum skill set as required by sanctioned WFTDA play.
Skaters must be well on their way to passing minimum skills to be accepted into Reckless Rollers. We still offer the option of skating casually with minimal commitment as well as fast track programs for skaters wanting to join the B.ay A.rea D.erby Girl’s competitive league.
Skaters who are still learning the basics should check out our upcoming “Pre-Rec” class that will be offered starting in June 2013. Participants will be enrolled in eight two-hour classes aimed at building basic skills to become Reckless Rollers eligible. Each class will build upon the previous one and it’s intended for skaters to attend all of them, under one fee. Classes will be held at our practice facility Saturday mornings. Stay tuned for more information on Pre-Rec.
Skaters are otherwise encouraged to practice outside, at local rinks or find an empty tennis court. Feel free to network on our site, to find other participants near you.
Interested skaters can register on the first Saturday of every month. To skate with Reckless, you must have a full set of protective gear: This includes quad skates, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, a helmet, and a mouth guard.
